Chicago, IL (April 5, 2007) According to a new poll conducted by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and WorldPublicOpinion.org, people around the world say the United Nations has the responsibility to protect people from genocide and other severe human rights abuses. In America, 74% of the public is of the view that the Security Council should implement its responsibility to protect, including by authorizing the use of force against the will of the government whose populations are victims of severe human right abuses such as genocide.
