New York, NY (September 24, 2007) The governing board of the National Council of Churches, USA, today endorsed the principle of the Responsibility to Protect. It called upon the US Government to work with the international community to implement the obligations of the Responsibility to Protect set out in the World Summit Outcome declaration adopted by the UN Security Council on April 28, 2006; and affirmed by the Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago. |
