In addition to conducting their own independent activities, the members of the Coalition for R2P engage in various activities in order to:

1. Offer a comprehensive definition of R2P by identifying the sources and implication of the four following dimensions of this norm: theological, philosophical, domestic public policy, as well as international legal and policy;
2. Identify and promote palatable means to implement R2P,
3. Raise awareness of the American public and its leaders about R2P,
   
4. Build a permanent grassroots R2P constituency throughout America,
5. Increase the domestic moral, political and legal acceptance of the three components – prevention, reaction, rebuilding - of R2P;
   
6. Promote the endorsement of R2P by civil society organizations as well as by local, State and ultimately Federal level legislative and executive bodies;
7. Engage in or support specific activities designed to implement R2P on the American soil and abroad.
